CCAFS (Climate Change and Food Security) network and the CGIAR research Centers provide cutting-edge research on global climate change, agriculture and food security across the developing world. A major objective is to also provide Capacity Enhancement outputs for decision makers, the research community, farmers and others. These include training, policy development, participatory research and software. As a relatively new research network, CCAFS wanted to evaluate its capacity enhancement outputs since it was founded.
Climate Futures was commissioned to analyse all CCAFS activities over a three-year period, identify and classify capacity enhancement outputs, partners benefiting from these activities, and produce an independent evaluation. A thorough analysis was carried out of 74 reports, and over 500 activities were identified with capacity enhancement outputs.
