Insights into winning Horizon 2020 funding: exclusive access to research findings
Horizon 2020 (H2020) has a greater emphasis on research impact than previous EU funding streams such as FP6 and FP7. In 2014, 26,000 eligible proposals were submitted, of which 3,800 were above the threshold (16%), but only 1,400 grants were awarded. Although a third of an evaluation score is awarded for impact, it is widely understood that it can be the major distinguishing factor in a winning proposal.
